Deadpool 2’s Sequel Confirmed To Be A Separate Movie To X-Force

Deadpool 2 will begin shooting soon, and there are plenty of reports of an X-Force movie, which is also set to feature the merc with a mouth.  Now according to Deadpool co-writer Rhett Reese there are plans for a Deadpool 3 as well.

In an interview with Cinemablend, Reese said that Deadpool 2 would not only set the tone for Deadpool 3 but also for the X-Force movie.

“I think it’s working in an expansive way towards X-Force, which will really be more of an ensemble. But then that will allow us to do both an X-Force movie and a Deadpool 3, which actually contracts back down.”

News regarding an X-Force movie isn’t exactly new as it’s been in the works for quite a while, however it wasn’t clear whether it would actually be Deadpool 3 or a different film entirely.

We already know that Deadpool 2 will feature Cable and producer Simon Kinberg confirmed that both Deadpool and Cable would be a part of the X-Force film.

A host of names have been linked with the role of Cable so far with Stranger Things star David Harbour being the latest addition to the list.

Deadpool 2 will also feature Domino alongside Cable. Unlike the latter, Domino has already been cast and will be played  by Atlanta actress Zazie Beetz. Both Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Colossus are set to reprise their roles from the first movie. Co-writer Paul Wernick stepped in to reassure fans that despite the influx of other characters the move would still revolve around Ryan Reynolds.

“First and foremost it’s a Deadpool movie, and then we just have to build, His supporting cast is some of the characters we fell in love with in the first one, introducing new characters into that world.”

“Deadpool is a character piece. Deadpool is the leader of this very dysfunctional family. There are new people coming into that family, and there are old people that you’ve fallen in love with. So yeah, it’s a delicate balance, but primarily keeping a Deadpool movie.”
