It seems like ages when CDPR announced its next project Cyberpunk 2077. Half a decade later it is still perceived to be in development with many claiming that it may finally be released in 2018.
There seems to be a new rumor going around though that Cyberpunk 2077 will be at least 4 times larger than The Witcher 3. The leak apparently has other information as well, however since the source cannot be identified we would encourage you to take this news with a massive grain of salt.
- The world of Cyberpunk 2077 will be almost 4 times bigger than Witcher 3 & its DLC’s.
- Cyberpunk 2077 will be using The Witcher 3 seasonal system for generating maps on massive scales.
- The game will have dynamic destructible areas.
While the games world may or may not be bigger than The Witcher 3 one thing is for certain that CDPR certainly believes in Cyberpunk 2077 having the potential to be a bigger draw than The Witcher series. Here’s what one of its co-founders Michał Kicińsk had to say regarding the game
“I am convinced that “Cyberpunk 2077″ may be a much greater commercial success than”The Witcher 3”. The Futuristic world of “Cyberpunk” is closer to what we know from everyday life. It is also increasingly popular as evidenced of the phenomenon’s presence in a number of films, books, comics and games. You have to remember that fantasy, is a niche topic.”
While this may be a rumor from an unidentifiable source , it still is an interesting possibility of Cyberpunk 2077 being a bigger more open experience than The Witcher ever was, and this might explain the delays in the game as CDPR tweaks the game to perfection and ensures that the end product is one which will garner a sizeable community for years and years to come.
At this point though all we can do is wait and hope that Cyberpunk 2077 comes out in the near future.
