Cyberpunk 2077

Grants submitted by CD Projekt S.A., the lead company of developer CD Projekt Red and, have come out online, giving a look into the prospective scope of its upcoming game, Cyberpunk 2077, which is the upcoming game from the developers of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

Submitted to the GameInn program, CD Projekt has called for funding to develop “City Creation”. According to Gamepressure’s translation, City Creation will be an intricate technology system that will create a “huge living city, playable in real time, [where the technology is] based on rules, AI, and automation, and supports innovative processes and tools for making top-notch open-world games.” At the moment no additional details or information regarding this development is available. What the whole concept means, or how it differs from other open worlds we’ll have to wait and find out. It still comes off pretty amazing though, right?

Moreover, CD Projekt also requested for additional funds to add Seamless multiplayer to its game, which will enable players to “search for opponents, manage game session, replicate objects, and support for different game modes along with a unique set of dedicated tools.” As the site points out, its pretty much like the multiplayer of Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs series.

Also, keep in mind that these grants do not determine what Cyberpunk will be as a completely developed product. It’s likely that CD Projekt’s request may be denies since the applications only publicly surfaced a few days back. However, the news alone is enough to keep us going and waiting for further details. What do you make of this development? Are you looking forward to it? Are you excited for the game’s release? Share your thoughts and views by commenting below.
