Call Of Duty: WWII will be bringing a new and improved Zombie mode, which will mirror “real events”
Call of Duty is taking a step back this year and it looks like a welcome change. The series decided to go back to square one (or two) as it looks to return to it’s roots by bringing back good old boots on the ground action! There will also be a lot of new changes and improvements that Sledgehammer is happy to present us with. There will be a Zombies mode for the game and it has now been confirmed that it will be based on “real events”.
When one thinks about Zombies (and especially zombies in Call of Duty where we see flying bug monsters and fire wolves!) it is hard to see it get anything historically accurate. But Sledgehammer has recently said that they will be basing the mode off of real authentic events that actually took place in history. Glen Schofield, Sledgehammer boss, was the one to reveal to Edge magazine this news about Call of Duty’s Zombies mode and he seemed to mean business.
The game still has some good time before release but critics and series veterans have already expressed their love for the direction of WWII. Historians have made comments about how the game will do wonders of expressing and carrying forward the memory of the devastating second world war. Martin Morgan (a historian) says that the game might be biggest thing to touch that World War 2 subject.
“The living memory of this conflict is receding very quickly. Just this past week, three veterans that I’ve interviewed have died, and that happens every week. I’ve written two books; nobody read them. We’re living in a world where people read less and less. What’s going to replace it? Projects like this that have strong emotional themes, and also strong educational themes”, said Martin.
Call Of Duty: WWII comes out for the PS4, Xbox One and PC on November 3, 2017 so be sure to keep checking back for the early access beta info and more. Stay tuned!
