Call of Duty: WWII has yet to release but we’re already talking about a brand new entry in the series! Cowen & Company (industry analysts) said that Black Ops 4 will be released in 2018 and this means that Treyarch will not be working on a brand new idea for the game.
The company predicts this as they reported to investors that they do not feel that Activision will do well financially in the year 2018. The analysts have replaced Activision’s Outperform rating to a lower one as they feel that their financial performance is going to drop in the following year.
Cowen & Company feel that the expectation put forward by investors for Activision’s stock are a bit too high and an increase of 12-13% year after year is very unlikely. They, however, do expect them to perform very well this year and predict that WWII will sell more than last year’s Infinite Warfare (which was victim to a lot of criticism!).
Infinite Warfare had a lot of backlash because of the direction that the franchise was taking, but so far WWII seems to be pretty well received. However, there were issues from PC users after the open beta ended which resulted in a very negative rating for the beta on Steam.
The PC beta was plagued with issues such as cheaters, bugs and crashes, FPS drops and much more. Hopefully, the full game will be a much better experience.
Call of Duty: WWII releases for the PS4, Xbox One and PC worldwide in November so prepare to go to back to old “boots on the ground” formula this year! Be sure to pre-order the game to get the many benefits that come with the pre-order.
