Activisions upcoming Call of Duty game, Call of Duty: WWII, was officially revealed during a livestream and, so far, the fans are ‘liking’ it. This is in regard to YouTube likes and dislikes, with the reveal trailer garnering over 230,000 likes compared to just 15,000 dislikes. This is a major difference compared to last year’s Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare trailer, which recieved an overwhelming 460,000 dislikes.
Fans have been asking for a classic boots on the ground Call of Duty experience for ages, and by the time Infinite Warfare rolled out, fans were sick of the futuristic gameplay of the past few CoDs. Activision seems to have learned it’s lesson though, if the trailer for the latest is anything to go by.
The positive response to the game has been acknowledged by Sledgehammer Games boss Glen Schofield, who took to Twitter to write “Well the reveal is over. Whew! Thanks for all the support. This is just the beginning.” Sledgehammer Games is the studio developing CoD: WW2.
Other details about the game have started filtering in. The game will feature an exciting campaign mission taking place during the bloody D-Day landings. Perhaps the most exciting bit of news is that a Nazi zombies style co-operative multiplayer mode has been confirmed. Zombie survival modes have been a staple of Call of Duty games ever since Black Ops 1, and fans have appreciated the fact that it returns yet again.
Although Call Of Duty: WWII has had its fair bit of criticism as well as many gamers have pointed out the fact that the game looks like an extension of Battlefield 1, and compared with its counterpart it will mostly be a run and gun game.
