Deadpool 2 will be finally hitting theatres in 2018 and fans are now aware Cable is also joining Wade Wilson (Deadpool) for the ride. Fox Studios revealed who would be playing Cable in the second installment of Deadpool and it has left many fans confused.
Fox Studios has decided to cast Josh Brolin in Deadpool 2. This has come up as a surprise too many fans as Mr. Brolin is already playing another role in a different Marvel film. Mr. Brolin plays the role of the Thanos. Up till now the role of Thanos has been very limited as we have seen only a few short appearances from the super villain. However, as the Marvel universe heads towards the infinity wars, his role is likely to broaden.
Thanos belongs to Marvel’s Cinematic universe on the other hand Cable belongs to Fox Studios. While both Cable and Thanos are Marvel characters, different studios and copyrights ensure that villains may never cross each other’s paths.
The report of Mr. Brolin playing the Cable was initially broken by Hollywood reporter. Fox Studios has had a pretty hard time finding the right guy for the Cable and in the end has finally come up with the surprise role. Some of the other contenders for the role were David Harbour, Pierce Brosnan and Michael Shannon.
Following the news release by Hollywood Reporter, Ryan Reynolds also confirmed the news thorugh his Tweet which stated that “The f**k, Fox! You can’t play 2 characters in the same universe!! Josh Brolin was in Sicario and I was in Sabrina The Teenage Witch.”
It would be interesting to see which X-Men characters come to Deadpool’s latest installment this time. In the comics the Cable is the adult son of Cyclops and comes to the future to fight Deadpool. Whether Fox decides to go with the comic story line or creates something on its own remains a mystery but the new movie is likely to give fans a run for their money.
