Black Mirror Revival Announced By THQ Nordic; The Point-and-Click Is Coming Back

THQ Nordic are most famously known for the people who brought us the Darksiders series and the publisher is currently in the works of releasing the upcoming Darksiders 3. The news has now come that they’re reviving their Black Mirror series, with a new installment that’s coming in November 2017!

Black Mirror is a point-and-click adventure and will be an official reboot of the amazing Gothic-horror series that debuted in the early 2000s. The new game will boast a unique story, completely different from the earlier games. The story will take place around the protagonist, David Gordon, and his dark hallucination-like visions that we will investigate throughout the course of the game.

“Scotland, 1926. Following the death of his father, David Gordon visits his ancestral home for the first time in his life. A life that is soon threatened by the dark secrets that claimed the sanity of many Gordons before him. Blood is not always thicker than water.”

The developers stated that there indeed will be monsters in the game but the main focus will be psychological torture and a psychosis horror effect. The game will be available for a hands-on experience at Gamescom 2017 so be sure to check it out if you’re going to the event. The reveal will also take place at Gamescom along with the other games that THQ Nordic plans to reveal.

“We have developed a new interpretation that both retains the strengths of the original games and gives us more room to explore fresh possibilities in terms of gameplay so that players can experience the world of Black Mirror in a more direct and free way, and not ‘just’ in classic point-and-click style.”

Black Mirror will launch on November 28,2017 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC so be sure to pick it up if you were a fan of the original series. Let us know what you think about Black Mirror in the comments section below and stay tuned for more!
