We are edging closer to the launch of the first DLC pack for Battlefield 1 which will feature, new maps, weapons, and other bits for players to enjoy, like a Dark Souls easter egg.
One of the new maps in the imminent DLC for Battlefield 1 called “They Shall Not Pass” makes a few hints which point towards the Dark Souls action role-playing video game series developed by FromSoftware and published by Namco Bandai Games much to the delight of the fans. The concerned easter egg is a Battlefield 1 version of the Bonfires, the save points or checkpoints of Dark Souls.
Although for your average player the easter egg is a somewhat obvious one it’s location is by no means the same, players will have to venture outside of the map “Rupture” to get a good look at it. As a prize players who manage to reach the Bonfire Battlefield 1 are allowed players to take the Bonfire sword and use it as a melee weapon until they die. Sadly, players won’t respawn at the Bonfire, or with the sword, after they are killed.
For a better look at the Bonfire and where exactly you can find it have a look at the following video:
The “They Shall Not Pass” DLC features four new maps, a new game mode, a new army, new weapons, and a lot more. In other Battlefield 1 news, DICE recently revealed that they would make some big changes to the grenades, changes that could impact the game quite a bit.
