Back in Gamescom 2017 EA DICE confirmed that Battlefield 1 Incursions Mode would be headed our way. Producer David Sirland also stated that the incursion mode will also have balance and power strikes as a means for an in-game progression system.
Battlefield 1 Incursions mode is currently part of the (PTS) Public Test Servers. The server is accessible for those who own a Battlefield 1 Season Pass. The mode will be release on all Major consoles and their mid-gen upgrades as well. For those of you who have not heard about Battlefield 1’s Incursion Mode, its a small 5 vs 5 battle which also happens to have vehicles in it.
“So we’re approaching it using an in-game progression system which resets every round. which allows us to create a power spike for both the kits and the vehicle kits – early, mid or late game – and that way we can ensure that balance is ever shifting. And eventually, if you pick a late game kit or vehicle you will reach your full potential, but you might have lost the game already. So it’s all about building your team together with your teammates and using what fits the situation the best.”
It will be interesting to see how they balance out the mode when it is released in the very near future. In the past we have seen a number of balancing issues in similar modes albeit different games. Incidentally Battlefield 1 has also had team balancing issues in the past , with the most problematic mode being Frontline. With a number of players still complaining about the balance and the matchmaking in the said mode.
Hopefully the new Battlefield 1 Incursions Mode wont have any such problems when it is released for the general public in the near future.
