Battlefield 1 Community Test Environment (CTE) is headed to both the PS4 and Xbox One. The feature was previously exclusive to PC gamers . However now the Battlefield 1 Community Test Environment is available for download for those console players who have a premium pass to the game.
For those of you unaware about what exactly is the CTE feature and what it exactly does? think of it as a sort of testing ground for new content and tweaks which helps the devs DICE ensure that everything is balanced and in order before it goes live . It allows the gamers to directly give feedback to the developers about what changes they appreciate and which ones they don’t. Think of it as an effort on the part of the devs to address and fix the concerns that the Battlefield 1 community has. This in turn also helps maintain a loyal fan base as the community feels like someone is actually taking their concerns seriously and are actively working to enhance user experience along with introducing new features.
Furthermore this is similar to the feature introduced by popular MMORPG’s such as League Of Legends and World Of Warcraft which have their separate test realms of sort. Here a similar test phase of tweaks and patches are run to determine overall player satisfaction amongst other things.
In case you are hoping to participate in Battlefield 1’s Community Test Environment make sure that you have ample free space on your console as the feature takes above 40 GB to install on your consoles. Hence I suggest that you only go for this feature if you have ample amount of time to spare and free space on your console.
