Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed series has its roots in virtual reality within the game, and now it appears that we might be seeing a new entry for the franchise for todays VR headsets.
This comes from a recent post on the website dribble . Where UI and UX designer Matt Stenquist recently posted some images of a logo and some icons for what he describes as an “internal Assasin’s Creed escape Room Game”
Stenquist claims he led the UI and UX for Ubisoft Paris. The project surprisingly is though developed for the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift and makes use of the Unreal Engine 4, and will also have multiplayer.
A number of images are included below some of which Stenquist claims are dated as they were not optimized for VR .
Even though the game might be real , it may never see the light of day as it has been termed as an internal project. However you might remember that during E3 2015 the publisher also showed off a glimpse of Eagle Flight before it was confirmed as an official game later on, so chances are that there is substance to this rumor , and we might very well be seeing a Assasin’s Creed VR game.
However one thing which makes no sense to me personally is why go for HTC Vive , and Oculus when there is a bigger and more established base for PSVR? That seems to be the only grey area when thinking about the title’s possibility.
Escape from games are quite popular right now in VR, and there is definite possibility that this titles may come to fruition. However if it does it is going to be quite different from the 3rd person games that we have come to expect from the franchise.
So do you think that an Assassin’s Creed VR game will become a reality? Let us know by commenting in the comments section below.
